**Students will be required to attend the last day of school, Friday, May 23, 2008, to pick up report cards from homeroom teachers. If they do not plan to attend, students in grades 9 through 11 MUST bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope to their homeroom teacher by Friday, May 16, 2008.
*Free tutoring will be offered in M-3 Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 16 for any student who wants help on a final project or exam review. All PHS students and all subject areas are welcome.
*Students planning to help with the Prattville Kindergarten Field Day need to see Mrs. Boozer as soon as possible for details and a permission slip.
*Congratulations to next year’s NHS Officers! They are: Jace Daniels, President / Becca Stevenson, Vice-President / Kathy Steele, Secretary / Michael Forst, Treasurer / Emily Allbritton, Reporter
*Scoliosis screening for all Freshmen Boys and Girls is today. If you did not receive a sheet to take home please stop by the nurse’s office to pick one up. This is only for Freshmen.

As stated in the Autauga County School System Parent/Student Code of Conduct and the Prattville High School Parent/Student Handbook, students wearing oversized clothes, bagging/sagging pants worn below the waistline, or clothing too revealing are in violation of the dress code. When students violate this code, their parents or guardians will be notified by school officials, and students will be sent home. Students may return when the dress code criteria is met.
Students are expected to be clean and appropriately dressed for school. Dress and appearance must not cause disruption or present health or safety problems. Shoes must be worn by all students. Clothing in a state of disrepair or so skin-tight or revealing as to provoke or distract other students is disruptive and therefore unacceptable. Hats, other types of headgear, and sunglasses are not to be worn in school except for medical or safety reasons.
The following shall be considered APPROPRIATE for all students:
*Unobtrusive EARRINGS worn on the ears, which are not distracting to other students, are acceptable.
The following shall be considered INAPPROPRIATE for all students:
*Excessive Colors (e.g. black shirt & black pants, etc.) *Strapless dresses *Blouses with high midriff *Spaghetti Straps *Tank Tops (single, double, or tripled) *Short shorts/skirts even when worn with tights or leggings *Muscle Shirts *Overly loose fitting clothing *Belts unfastened, hanging down, and are too long * Chains on clothing *Overly large bell-bottom pants *Pants which drag ground/floor *Pants must be worn at the waist *Long shirts must be tucked so that all pockets are visible at all times *Holes in clothing above the knee *Overall bibs down or unfastened *Picks, combs, or stick decorations in hair *Facial and/or nose rings or other facial jewelry *Excessive jewelry *A glove/gloves inside school buildings *Any kind/type of head cloth, wrap, headband, scarves, bandana, etc. *Hair color/styles that distract learning (e.g. extreme mohawks or extreme hairstyles) *Clothing with decals or slogans that contain profanity, obscene/indecent commentary, immoral/illegal behavior, or alcohol/tobacco advertisements *SHIRTS, SHORTS, PANTS, DRESSES, AND SIMILAR ITEMS OF CLOTHING MUST BE IN GOOD TASTE AS DEEMED BY THE ADMINISTRATION AND TEACHERS AT PRATTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL. *STUDENTS ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH WHEN SCHOOL OFFICIALS HAVE REASONABLE GROUNDS TO DO SO.
STUDENTS WHO ARE INAPPROPRIATELY DRESSED WILL BE SENT HOME TO CHANGE CLOTHES. STUDENTS WHO DRIVE – MAY DRIVE HOME WITH PARENTS PERMISSION, TO CHANGE CLOTHES. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT DRIVE – PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED TO EITHER BRING THE STUDENT APPROPRIATE CLOTHING OR TAKE THE STUDENT HOME TO CHANGE CLOTHES.

ALL Autauga County Schools offer tutoring before and after school Monday through Thursday. PHS offers tutoring on Saturday mornings from 9-11 a.m.

Senior Portraits for the class of 2009
Parents Corner
Parents, at this time of year it is necessary to start making plans for next school year. If you know that your child will not attend Prattville High School next year, please ask your child to bring home a YELLOW FORM from teachers or office and have your child return this form to Mrs. Grigsby in the Guidance Department by Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
A parent must come to the Guidance Department to sign a withdrawal form either Friday, May 23, before 10:00 a.m. or the week after school is out –indicate on the form. A copy of the withdrawal form, immunization form, birth certificate and unofficial copy of the student’s transcript, which will only include grades through Semester 1, will be provided at that time. The address for Prattville High School will be at the top of the withdrawal form for your new school to use to send a request for official records. When official records are sent, the transcript will include Semester 2 grades. A Parent or student is responsible for picking up final report card and giving copy to transfer school for registration purposes.
Report Cards went out 3/18.
Preparing for College - Dr. John Fletcher, from Auburn University, will speak on the college admissions and scholarship application process on April 29th from 6-7 in the PHS Media Center.
