Excused Absences

* Supply a note from home or doctor's excuse upon return to school.  Must get to Student Center between 7:00 and 7:45 a.m.  The student has TWO DAYS to bring an excuse; otherwise, it is unexcused.  This is important because your absences must be excused before you can do make-up work and take missed tests.

* If out for five or more days, make-up work and homework can be obtained by calling the front office.  A 24 hour turn around is needed.  Counselors gather the work and a time is set for the work to be picked up.

* It is not necessary to call the school if your child is sick.

Check-Out Information

* Note from parent or phone call from parent.  Student gives note to 1st Block teacher.  Office will call to verify note.  Student will be provided with check-out card.

* Check-out/Check-in on the same day:  Have doctor, dentist, orthodontist, etc. stamp check-out card.  Return to school and show card for excused absence.

Teacher Contact

* Parents can call the school (334-365-8804) and leave a message for the teacher to call back.  These messages are delivered and the teacher calls at their earliest convenience.

* Click here for a list of Teacher E-mail addresses.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

* Conference by phone - call the main office at (334) 365-8804 and request a phone conference with a teacher.

* Face-to-Face Conference - call the main office at (334) 365-8804 and ask for a parent conference to be set up.  Meeting is usually for the next day and are typically for 7:30 a.m.

Shot Records

All students need an updated shot record.  Bring any updates to front office.

Dances/Pep Rallies

Pep rallies:

Students normally wear their “class colors” to pep rallies. Class colors are as follows:

Seniors – black

Juniors – red/cardinal

Sophomores – gray

Freshmen – white

Some students choose to be extra-spirited in their dress or accessories (as long as it complies with the dress code!), or bring signs and noisemakers to support the Lions and their class.

Homecoming:

The attire for homecoming is semi-formal.  Girls usually wear cocktail-style dresses that do not have to be floor length.  Boys typically wear dress pants, a dress shirt, and a tie.  A coat is not necessary.  Corsages and boutonnières are also optional.  Snacks will be provided at the dance.  Students may also choose to purchase Homecoming pictures which can be taken the night of the dance.

Prom:

The attire for Prom is more formal than for Homecoming.  Girls normally wear longer formals; however there are many different styles present and shorter dresses are perfectly acceptable.  Most boys choose to wear a tux.  Many couples purchase corsages and boutonnières, but this is optional.  Food will also be provided at Prom.  Students may choose to purchase Prom pictures which can be taken the night of the dance.

Driver's Permit

Your child must have an enrollment form in order to take the permit test.  The PHS office needs 24 hours to process a request for this enrollment form.
